Introduction

The course is intended for professors and postgraduate students in mathematics and computer science. It will equip the participant with effective communication skills for mathematical writing that will benefit their individual research careers, and will provide a competitive edge for students who move into industry.

English has become the default language for mathematical publications, for international collaboration, and for conference presentations. The reality of academic publishing means that a well written paper is more likely to be accepted, and will be read by a wider audience. Therefore successful researchers need to be able to communicate in English effectively

The skills learned in the course will also help with writing grant applications, reports, project proposals, and job applications.

The course is limited to 25 participants. Email Stefan Langerman (stefan.langerman@ulb.ac.be. ) to register
